Security Groups 10 Years and Older
Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) – FIRST is the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams. The idea of FIRST goes back until 1989, only one year after the CERT(r) Coordination Center was created after the infamous Internet worm. Back then incidents already were impacting not only one closed user group or organization but any number of networks interconnected by the Internet. It was clear from then on that information exchange and cooperation on issues of mutual interest like new vulnerabilities or wide-ranging attacks – especially on core systems like the DNS servers or the Internet as a critical infrastructure itself – were the key issues for security and incident response teams. Since 1990, when FIRST was founded, its members have resolved an almost continuous stream of security-related attacks and incidents including handling thousands of security vulnerabilities affecting nearly all of the millions of computer systems and networks throughout the world connected by the ever-growing Internet. FIRST brings together a wide variety of security and incident response teams including especially product security teams from the government, commercial, and academic sectors
Messaging, Malware and Mobile Anti-Abuse Working Group (M3AAWG) – The Messaging, Malware and Mobile Anti-Abuse Working Group (M3AAWG) is where the industry comes together to work against botnets, malware, spam, viruses, DoS attacks, and other online exploitation. We are the largest global industry association, with more than 200 members worldwide, bringing together all the stakeholders in the online community in a confidential, open forum. We develop cooperative approaches for fighting online abuse. Founded in 2004, M3AAWG is a technology-neutral, non-political working body. We systematically focus on operational issues of Internet abuse including technology, industry collaboration and public policy. Our membership Includes Internet Service Providers (ISPs), telecom companies, Email Service Providers (ESP), social networking companies, leading hardware and software vendors, major brands, major antivirus vendors and numerous security vendors.
Security Groups 5 Years and Older
United Nations Group of Governmental Experts on Developments in the Field of Information and Telecommunications in the Context of International Security – The 2015 Group of Governmental Experts on Developments in the Field of Information and Telecommunications in the Context of International Security examined existing and potential threats arising from the use of ICTs by States and considered actions to address them, including norms, rules, principles and confidence-building measures. In addition, the Group examined how international law applies to the use of ICTs by States. Building on the work of previous Groups, the present Group made important progress in those areas.

Cyber Readiness Institute – The Cyber Readiness Institute is committed to empowering small and medium-sized organizations by providing them with free practical tools and resources to improve their cyber readiness.
Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace – The Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace will develop proposals for norms and policies to enhance international security and stability and guide responsible state and non-state behavior in cyberspace. The GCSC will engage the full range of stakeholders to develop shared understandings, and its work will advance cyber stability by supporting information exchange and capacity building, basic research, and advocacy.
